Jane Doe has withdrawn her sexual assault lawsuit against Jay-Z and Sean 'Diddy' Combs.

A Jane Doe who accused Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) of sexually assaulting her in 2000 has voluntarily dismissed her lawsuit against both men **with prejudice**, barring the case from being refiled. The dismissal notice, filed Friday in court, stated that her attorneys consulted with lawyers for both defendants, who consented to the withdrawal.

The lawsuit, first filed against Combs in October 2024, alleged the woman was drugged and raped by Combs and an unnamed “celebrity” at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty when she was 13. Jay-Z was later added as a defendant in an amended December 2024 complaint, accused of participating in the assault.

Jay-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, celebrated the dismissal, calling the case “false” and emphasizing that the rapper “never settled, never paid a penny, and triumphed in clearing his name.” Spiro added that Carter had repeatedly urged Doe to file criminal charges rather than a civil suit, denouncing the allegations as “heinous and false.”

Combs’ legal team echoed the sentiment, stating the dismissal reaffirmed that such lawsuits are “built on falsehoods, not facts,” and criticized the anonymity granted to accusers. Combs currently faces over 40 sexual assault lawsuits and federal charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution, to which he has pleaded not guilty. His attorney reiterated Friday that he “has never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone.”

The case saw contentious legal battles, including a December 2024 ruling allowing Doe to remain anonymous after Jay-Z’s team pushed to reveal her identity. A judge at the time rebuked Carter’s attorneys for filing “combative motions” to dismiss the case. In January, Carter’s lawyers again sought dismissal and sanctions against Doe’s attorney, citing inconsistencies in her allegations.

Doe acknowledged discrepancies in her account during an interview with NBC but maintained her core claim of assault. Her attorney, Tony Buzbee, previously told CNN she remained “fiercely adamant” about the truth of her allegations.

Doe’s legal team declined to comment on the dismissal. The case’s closure marks the latest development in a wave of high-profile allegations against Combs, who continues to deny all wrongdoing.
